GI Endoscopy is a medical procedure that a medical procedure that allows your doctor to examine the inside of your body. It involves the use of an instrument called an endoscope, or simply a scope. This device consists of a long, thin tube with a tiny camera attached to the end. The doctor guides the scope through a body passageway or opening to visualize the interior of an organ. In addition to diagnostic purposes, endoscopes are also used for certain surgical procedures, such as the removal of polyps from the colon.
