Sleep Medicine in Grant County

Grant County Sleep Lab

Our sleep medicine department offers comprehensive studies to diagnose various sleep disorders. As your neighbors and healthcare partners, our dedicated team always strives to provide the highest quality of care to help you achieve restful sleep, because we understand how vital good sleep is to the overall well-being of our community.

Common Sleep Disorders We Diagnose

During your stay, polysomnography (PSG) is used to evaluate sleep disorders and determine the best courses of treatment, ensuring that you and your fellow community members can access advanced sleep medicine without having to travel far from home. Sleep studies are conducted upon referral from your doctor. Our state-of-the-art facilities and knowledgeable staff make us the premier choice for diagnosing and treating sleep disorders, such as the following and more:

  • Sleep Apnea: Characterized by irregular breathing or complete cessation of breath during sleep, leading to a decreased oxygen supply to the heart and brain.
  • Insomnia: Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep throughout the night.
  • Narcolepsy: An overwhelming need to sleep during the day, often coupled with sudden muscle tone loss and sleep paralysis upon waking.

What to Expect

To prepare for your sleep study, make sure to cease caffeine use before noon, eat dinner, and come in with clean, dry hair. Feel free to also bring any of the following items with you to help you feel more comfortable:

  • Pajamas (leggings, sweatpants, t-shirts, and anything else you’re comfortable sleeping in is also fine)
  • Medication that you take at night or occasionally take to help with sleep (we are an outpatient center and have no medication in our department)
  • A special pillow or blanket
