SwingBed Program 

A swing-bed service is a type of service that allows a patient to transition to receiving acute care to skilled nursing care without leaving your local hospital.It is only available to rural and Critical Access Hospitals who have a Medicare provider agreement and it is paid for my patients who have traditional Medicare. It is an especially important service in rural areas because it increases Medicare patient access to this type of care. 

A hospital case manager is assigned to every patient to guide the patient and family through the swing-bed program if selected. GRMC swingbed care can provide a list of skilled nursing services including: 

• Physical therapy 
• Occupational therapy 
• Wound care 
• Speech Therapy
